Help Restore Bird Habitat at Kachina Wetlands Preserve
Type: Habitat Restoration / Stewardship Join Northern Arizona Audubon Society and the Kachina Village Improvement District for a morning of hands-on habitat restoration at Kachina Wetlands Preserve. Volunteers will help remove invasive diffuse knapweed, an invasive plant species that threatens native vegetation and the wildlife that depends on it. By restoring native wetland habitat, volunteers help support birds, pollinators, and the many other species that call Kachina Wetlands home. No experience is necessary! Whether you can volunteer for the entire morning or just an hour, your time and effort will make a meaningful difference for this important bird habitat. What to expect:

Type: Ongoing Volunteer Opportunity Location: Dead Horse State Park, Cottonwood Northern Arizona Audubon Society is looking for volunteers to help maintain the bird feeders at Dead Horse Ranch State Park. For many years, dedicated volunteers Kelly and Skip Isley cared for the park’s feeders, creating wonderful birdwatching opportunities for wildlife and the thousands of visitors who enjoy this special place. We are grateful for their years of service and are looking for a team of volunteers to help continue this tradition. Volunteers will help refill:

Administrative & Behind-the-Scenes Support Help with coordination, data entry, marketing, or communications We’re looking for volunteers comfortable with Google Workspace, Canva, social media, email/CRM platforms, and website content to help with tasks like creating emails, social posts, website copy, data entry, and more. This role is perfect for anyone interested in gaining marketing experience, looking to learn new skills, or simply has some spare time and a creative or detail-oriented mindset. Bird Walks & Public Programs Assist with or help lead educational outings We are always looking for knowledgable people to help lead our bird walks. Training is available in July for those interested with the right background. Please register your interest and include your experience.
