Join us for a relaxed morning exploring the Big Pond and surrounding wetlands during fall migration. With more than 250 species recorded at the preserve, we’ll look for waterfowl, shorebirds, and migrating songbirds before they continue south.

Date: Wednesday, September 2, 2026
Time: 7:30–9:30 AM
Location: Sedona Wetlands Preserve

Meeting Point: Sedona Wetlands Preserve at 7:30 AM.

Directions: 7500 AZ-89A. The preserve is approximately 4.6 miles south of Red Rock High School in Sedona and approximately 10 miles north of Cottonwood on the west side of Highway 89A. Be ready to exit from the left lane.

What to Bring: Water, snacks, binoculars, and weather-appropriate clothing. The leader will bring a spotting scope for the group; feel free to bring your own for additional close-up views.

About the Location: Sedona Wetlands Preserve includes marshlands and a large pond that provide important habitat for waterfowl, shorebirds, and migrating birds. With more than 250 species recorded at the preserve, it is an excellent place to experience fall migration.
