Register

Explore the high-elevation meadows and forests of Hart Prairie during the start of fall migration. Keep an eye out for Mountain Chickadees, warblers, nuthatches, and other birds moving through the prairie and surrounding ponderosa pine forest.

Please register on The Nature Conservacy site as the walk is limited to 20.

Start time: 7:30 AM

Location: Hart Prairie Preserve, Flagstaff AZ

Directions: Once you get to the Hart Prairie Gate, if locked please wait as it will be unlocked at 7am.

What to Bring: Binoculars, sturdy shoes, water, snacks, and weather-appropriate clothing. A walking/hiking stick, and long pants are recommended as we will be going off trail.

About the Location: Hart Prairie Preserve is a high-elevation meadow surrounded by ponderosa pine forest on the San Francisco Peaks. The mix of open meadow and forest habitat provides opportunities to see a variety of mountain birds and migrating species, particularly during spring and fall migration.
