at this year’s annual Celebration of Spring Carnival and Egg Hunt at the Posse Ground in Sedona on Saturday, March 26th. Our Education Committee Chair, Tina Whitley, did an amazing job filling our table with colorful brochures about birds and where to find them as well as orchestrated a bird ID game designed by Nanette Armstrong. On hand was our raptor ecologist, Michele Losee, with her female Harris Hawk named Coral. It was tough to compete with an inflatable castle and pony rides; however, the children enjoyed Coral and asked great questions. Tina spent the morning guiding adults and children on where to find birds and talking about the different species of birds in our area. We had some birders new to the area that just might be our newest members!

We would like to thank NAAS members for their invaluable help at our table, Peter Angerbauer, Jackie Klieger and Kathy Dunham. Peter and Jackie were also our official photographers.

NAAS will be participating in the Verde Valley SciTech Festival on April 6th 9AM to 3:30PM at Mingus High School.
